CBS has cut the episode order for the crime drama Numb3rs from 22 to 16. This is a sign that the procedural’s current sixth season will likely be its last.
Producers were given enough time to have the 16th episode ordered serve as a possible series finale.
Cheryl Heuton (Numb3rs co-creator): "We will be doing a 16th episode that wraps up storylines and answers questions. It will be designed to stand as a finale, but it won't create story situations that would hamper us if the network should decide to order more episodes."
CBS has increased the episode orders of How I Met Your Mother, NCIS, NCIS: LA, CSI: Miami and Two and a Half Men from 22 to 24. It also requested one additional episode of Criminal Minds, CSI: NY, The Big Bang Theory, The Good Wife, CSI and The Mentalist, bringing their totals from 22 to 23.
