Michelle Obama to Appear on Iron Chef America

First Lady Michelle Obama will announce the secret ingredient in a January episode of the Food Network's Iron Chef America.

The January 3rd premiere was shot partially in the White House. The food competition pits White House executive chef Cristeta Comerford and Bobby Flay against Mario Batali and Emeril Lagasse.

The secret ingredient will be something that grows in the White House garden. Mrs. Obama will discuss childhood obesity, farmers' markets and her Healthy Kids Initiative.

Mario Batali: "What's exciting for us is this is the first time I can remember the White House taking an active interest in doing something about diet and health."

In Kitchen Stadium, judges Nigella Lawson, Jane Seymour and Natalie Coughlin had the honor of sampling their food concoctions.
