ABC Benches FlashForward

ABC has announced that freshman drama FlashForward will taken an extended hiatus until March 4, 2010.

The later date was selected so that the serial sci-fi drama can air new episodes back-to-back until the finale without repeats. ABC does not want the series to have to compete with the 2010 Winter Olympics, which air in February on NBC.

FlashForward was originally scheduled to return with new episodes in January 2010.
