Lee Bang (Born: October 29, 1965) started his career as a porn performer after working behind-the-camera managing porn starlets. He continues to manage new and established porn starlets, and has become one of the industry's most consistent woodsmen.
Lee Bang started his career in front of the camera by working with some of the top female performers in the adult industry. He has been featured in productions for such esteemed porn studios as Black Ice, West Coast Productions, Evil Angel, Hustler Video, Evasive Angles, NJ Films, Black Market and Red Light District.
Standing 6'4" and weighing 220 lbs, the 44-year-old performer established his own managing company, Valley Babes XXX, and it has gained a great reputation for finding studios girls in a short amount of time.
I sat down with Lee to chat about how he got into the adult industry, his directorial debut, Valley Babes XXX, his work in the mainstream entertainment industry and his future plans in the adult industry.
Papi Chulo: How long have you been in the adult industry?
Lee Bang: Since 2003. I started performing in late 2004.
PC: How did you get into the adult industry?
LB: I got into the adult industry totally by accident. I was working two regular jobs. I was working for the city of Los Angeles and I was working for a hotel in Beverly Hills. I met a guy who was in the business, as far as dealing with girls and stuff. We spoke and found out we were from the same city. He offered me a job on the side to take the girls back and forth to work. And then, from there, I ended up quitting my night job. I was making enough money to sustain myself. Then, after a period of time working for these guys for about two years, I decided to do my own
stuff. So, here I am.
PC: How did you come up with your porn name?
LB: It was just something I thought of. I decided to use my first name and put something on the end of it that was kind of explosive, like dynamite. So, I chose "bang".
PC: So, how did you end up managing porn starlets?
LB: I just started out taking girls around with this guy. After a period of time of working with different companies and different directors, I kept in contact with all the companies and directors. Everyone kept telling me that I had a great sense of business and that I dealt with the girls in a professional manner. They said I needed to break off and start my own company, and that's what I did.
PC: Tell me about your first porn scene.
LB: My first scene was with NJ Films out of New Jersey. They are two guys that were in a band and decided to start their own company. When I decided to perform, my very first time performing was with Evasive Angles. I had done a lot of business with them before I decided I wanted to perform. I got tested and was cleared to work. I took a Latin girl to do a scene. It was a blowjob scene. For some strange reason, something happened with the guy they were to use. They asked me if I wanted to do the scene. I refused to do the scene. The girl convinced me to do it. I said, "OK". And that I would be back. When I left, I was so nervous thinking about my first scene, even though it was just a bj scene. I went to the liquor store and bought me a bottle of Hennessy. I went home and drank a little to ease my nerves. I went back and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
After that, I did business with NJ Films. That was my very first experience. My very first time having sex on film. I was booked to do a scene with Ariana Jollee. She had this killer reputation. I was nervous as shit. I had a week before I was to do my scene with her. Everyone kept asking why they put me with a pro, because I was a rookie. I guess they threw the sheep to the wolves. The day came. Ariana and I did an anal scene. Everything went smoothly. From that point forward, I learned not to listen to rumors and to not be intimidated by anyone in the business. My first three scenes were with some of the "top" top female performers. I felt like it was good for me. It kind of made me get up to speed faster. I worked with that company on a regular basis until I developed my skills to do what I do. I also
directed and cast a movie for NJ Films as well.
PC: Who have been some of your favorite starlets to work with?
LB: There is a lot of good talent out there. It's kind of hard to say. I've worked with a lot of good people.
PC: What do you enjoy most about starring in porn scenes?
LB: I guess the fun part about it is being a guy and having a good time with different people when it's a fun time. You know what I mean? The sex is supposed to be fun. It's not supposed to be uptight or a bad experience. It's supposed to be a good experience. That's how I try to keep it, fun.
PC: In a scene, which do you enjoy the most: vaginal sex or anal sex?
LB: Both, and it kind of depends on the girl.
PC: You have been featured in a variety of scene types that range from one-on-ones to threesomes to group sex to strictly oral scenes. What type of scenes do you enjoy being in the most?
LB: I would say the funnest would be two girls and a guy.
PC: You have starred in several gangbang and orgy-style productions, do those scenes ever get uncomfortable or claustrophobic?
LB: It doesn't ever get claustrophobic. Gangbangs are OK, depending on the girl and depending on the group of guys you are working with. Me, personally, I really wouldn't want to work with more than four guys. I would say four guys would be enough for me. But, it all depends on the other three guys. When you do a gangbang, in order for it to work, you have to be comfortable with one another. A lot of the times, it doesn't go like that, because you have some performers who feel intimidated by other guys, and they can't perform to the best of their ability.
PC: What would you describe as being a bad porn shoot?
LB: The worst shoot is when you try to do a scene after you have been sick with a cold or flu. If you are taking antihistamine, cold medicine or Ibuprofen and try to do a scene, you are not 100%. It's going to make you struggle. And struggling with any talent is horrible. And you just can't maintain your wood.
PC: What has been one of your most memorable shoots?
LB: That depends on the girl and the atmosphere that the director puts you in. I've done a lot of good shoots for a lot of different companies. I would say that I've done more good than bad.
PC: Is there a particular studio you enjoy working for the most?
LB: Not really. There is not one studio that I can say stands out above the rest, because there are a lot of good companies out there. There are a lot of good directors that are fun to work with. But, to narrow just one down, I wouldn't be able to do that.
PC: In a scene, where is your favorite place to shoot your load?
LB: Mouth. And the reason for that is, I had never, never in my life before porn, and I'm 44-years-old, I never had came in a girl's face until porn.
PC: Do you ever feel that interracial porn goes a little too far with the titles they give DVDs?
LB: I would say that there are a few titles out there that do, with as far as the name and stuff. I've always been one to stir away from stereotypes or really outlandish, crazy scenes. I don't want to do a scene and call a white girl a "bitch", "whore", or any other girl this and that. I'm not into degrading women. As far as if they want to get rough... If they want hard sex? Depending on the girl, I can do that. But, every day degrading women in porn? That's not my forte.
PC: How big are you below the waist?
LB: 10 inches. I'm a top 10 player in the league.
PC: Do porn starlets find it difficult to manage your dick?
LB: It all depends on the girls. There are some girls that wouldn't be able to do an anal scene with me because I'm pretty girthy. That's about it. But, vaginal sex? I've never ran into a problem with that. But, I have when it comes to anal sex. Girls might say I'm too big and they can't do it.
PC: Have any starlets ever been able to deep throat your dick?
LB: Yeah. There are a bunch of girls out there that can do that. Now... make it disappear? No. But try? Yes.
PC: How and when did you lose your virginity?
LB: I was 18-years-old. I was dating a girl. She was a senior in high school. I had already graduated and we dated for a long period of time. We made plans to do our first love business. I lied and said I was experienced. I wasn't. She was inexperienced. We did the deed after a bit of preparation and planning. And it happened. That was my first experience and I thought, "Wow! This is great." Once you get you're first little piece, you can't deal without it. It's like someone giving you a bag of Lay's® potato chips. You aren't gonna eat just one?
PC: What do you enjoy doing sexually?
LB: Everything I guess. The beginning is cool. The blowjobs leading up to the sex.
PC: Do you get into any kinds of fetishes?
LB: No. I'm not a fetish guy. I mean I can do fetish. I'm not one to be tied up. But, I can deal with a girl that's tied up or whatever the case may be. But, as far as me tied up? Or foot fetish? That's not me. Although I have done foot fetish movies. I can do it. But as far as personal? I'm not into it like that. But, for a movie? I am an actor, so I can do that.
PC: Describe one of your hottest sexual encounters.
LB: I would say... Leaving a club, getting a blowjob in the car and then going back home and having sex. Especially when it's not planned and it's spontaneous. Spontaneous sex is by far the best.
PC: Do you find it difficult to maintain a romantic relationship in the adult industry?
LB: For me? No, because my wife, Sophie Dee, of four years is in the business. And no, I haven't had a problem. This is my first relationship, as far as in the business, and it's been great. We met five years ago. She's a performer and we've been together ever since. Both of us are in the business and we haven't had any problems or issues so far.
PC: What was it like to direct your first porn title?
LB: It was a great experience to be able to direct my own movie. It gave me the chance to use my creativity. To imagine a vision and to make that appear is a great feeling. It was a fun experience. And I think that there needs to be more people out there that have a wide range of creativity to be given an opportunity to direct movies. I think that a lot of people have tremendous ideas, but they aren't just getting the opportunity to do that. I was fortunate enough to direct two movies.
PC: How did Valley Babes XXX come about?
LB: I came up with the name. I wanted to work with "babes" and all porn is done in the "valley". Why not do "Valley Babes"? And it's porn, so you put the "XXX". My wife said it would be better to put the "XXX" at the end.
We are a management company that manages a lot of girls. Our motto is we want everybody to make money. Any girl out there can come and call us up and say, "Hey. I'm not working. Can you help me out?" We are kind of one of those companies that tries to help any and everybody to the best of our ability. We aren't trying to compete with other companies or steal girls from other companies. We are just trying to put money in their pockets. We have a good reputation with girls in the business and new girls. We are a very hands-on company. We tell the girls exactly what they are getting
into. The main objective is the girl is the boss. A lot of companies try to get girls into exclusive contracts. But, if they can't provide a girl with work, the girl sits home and gets lost in the shuffle. That's not a philosophy we want any girl to deal with. If we are working with a girl and she's not making the money she needs and wants to work with another company, we are all for that. If a company calls and asks for a girl that's with another company, we will call them up and ask if the girl is available for a job. Then, me and the company will split whatever business after the shoot. There are companies that don't share girls. They'd rather say "no", which is really unfair to the performer. There are enough girls in this business
to keep everybody busy. We are just one of those companies you can call, whenever you need something, at any time, 24 hours a day. We have a good reputation in that we can replace a girl faster than anybody in the business, if a girl cancels from another company.
PC: Is there an aspect of the industry you don't enjoy?
LB: It would be the talking behind people's backs, like if we were in high school. The gossiping. The rumors. The lying. The cheating. The trying to get one over. The trying to take advantage of people. And I'm talking in general. I'm not saying anything specific. In general those types of things are going on.
PC: Something your fans may not know is that you have been in several mainstream productions. Which productions may your fans have seen you in?
LB: I've done CSI: Las Vegas. I did Dragnet with Ed Bundy and Eva Longoria. When that got canceled she did Desperate Housewives and I did porn. I did TV series on FOX that got canceled called Skin. I did the movie White Oleander. I played the bailiff at the court during the end of the movie. I handcuff Michelle Pfeiffer and took her to jail at the end of the movie.
PC: How can your fans reach you?
LB: They can always email the website, ValleyBabesXXX.com.
PC: What upcoming projects can your fans expect to see you in?
LB: I'm supposed to be doing a feature movie coming up. They don't have a name for it yet. It's along the lines of Ransom. I played the lead role where I'm a pretty fierce character. The movie did so well that Warner Bros. tried to come in and make a mainstream movie out of it. I have done a lot of mainstream work. I am a SAG member. And so, I know a lot about what's fair as far as being paid and stuff like that. I guess because it has something to do with porn, whoever was dealing with the project decided they wanted people to do the movie for a really low rate and not go by the SAG scale. So, I declined to do the mainstream version. The mainstream version of Ransom is a movie that's going to come out soon called Greedy. There's a couple lead guys, well-known actors in the mainstream version. I turned down the project. I just didn't feel like it was fair to me. They were disappointed in me not doing it. They did take pieces of stuff I did in Ransom and put it in. And put me on the box. West Coast Productions is finishing the script on another movie where I will play a pretty violent character. They don't have the name for it yet, or know when we are going to do it.
PC: Now I am going to ask you seven questions that I like to call "Papi Chulo's LIST." These seven questions have been asked to all of my interview subjects. The first question is... What are your Top 5 favorite television shows?
