Susan Boyle nearly quadrupled the sales of her nearest new competitor to be crowned queen of the music charts! Boyle's I Dreamed a Dream sold a massive 701,000 copies its first week out.
I Dream a Dream is the biggest debut of 2009, the highest debut ever for a female solo artist since SoundScan began keeping track of such records, the second biggest debut album in SoundScan history (Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle moved 803,000 copies back in '93) and adds the U.S. to her list of global number ones.
Adam Lambert's debut album, For Your Entertainment, landed in third place with 198,000 copies. He easily bested American Idol champ Kris Allen's measly 80,000 entry last week.
Rihanna's Rated R sold 181,000 copies for fourth place.
