2010 AVN Award Winners Announced

The 2010 AVN Awards were held over the weekend at the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms Casino Resort.

The big winner at the awards show was Adam & Eve's post-apocalyptic blockbuster The 8th Day. The 8th Day claimed seven awards including Best Video Feature, Best All-Girl Threeway Sex Scene, Best Videography/Cinematography, Best Makeup, Best DVD Extras, Best Packaging Innovation and Best Online Marketing Campaign—Individual Project.

Porn starlet Tori Black took home awards for Female Performer of the Year, for Interactive Sex with Tori Black, for her all-girl couples sex scene with Lexi Belle in Girlfriends Films' Field of Schemes 5, for her work in Tori Black Is Pretty Filthy, which took the Best Gonzo Release trophy, as well as awards for Best Tease Performance and Best Threeway Sex Scene with Rebeca Linares and Mark Ashley.

The new Best Parody category delivered one of the night's several ties. The Sex Files: A Dark XXX Parody and Not The Cosbys XXX claimed the prize. Not The Cosbys XXX's Thomas Ward won Best Non-Sex Performance.

21-year porn veteran Sean Michaels won an AVN Award for Best Double Penetration Sex Scene with Bobbi Starr and Mr. Marcus (Bobbi Starr & Dana DeArmond's Insatiable Voyage)

AVN Awards Add "Best Sex Parody" Category

AVN Media Network announced that it has added "Best Sex Parody" as a new category for the 2010 AVN Awards.

Paul Fishbein (President of AVN): "Because of the amount of quality parodies that studios have produced in the past year and the impact they've had on the marketplace, we've decided to honor the best of those movies in their own category separate from our long-running 'Best Sex Comedy' award."

The 27th annual AVN Awards Show is scheduled for January 9, 2010 at the Palms Resort Casino in Las Vegas. Tickets will go on sale October 1.

AVN Announces New Location for 2010 AVN Awards Show

AVN Media Network has announced that the 2010 AVN Awards Show will be held at the Pearl Concert Theatre inside the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The awards show will take place on January 9, 2010.

Paul Fishbein (AVN President): "The Pearl Concert Theatre is an intimate, state-of-the-art facility. We were looking for something more conducive to a close-up experience, and watching what was done for both the NHL Awards and the MTV Music Video Awards two years ago convinced us that this theater provided an ideal location for the show. There isn't a bad seat in the house."

Tickets for the 2010 show go on sale on October 1, 2009.
